‘Vasa’ acryl on stretched canvas

Size: W 50 x H 60 cm

Abstract vertical and horizontal dark blue lines contrast with the chaotic orange. Vasa is about the old and the new, the concept is inspired by the ship ‘Vasa’ which was a marvel of engineering at its time and a sign of power. Though innovation can resemble the destruction of the old by the new, it is not a guarantee as the Vasa had a anticlimactic end, but still inspires to this day.
In my art works I experiments using different techniques and researching old and new ways to make visual art. I've a background in the old printing techniques and in making 3D art.
The work is unique and one of a piece.

A wicker basket in an egg shape. The inner space is wide enough for an adult person when folded. Being transported on a wooden simple wheeled vehicle. No colour, only natural wood and wicker. Inspired by prototypes and drawings for new machines and inventions. This prototype this to capture the essence of the first of such installations, set in an ancient setting, perhaps in ancient Mesopotamia. An imaging of a prototype before prototypes.
In her art works she experiments using different techniques and researching old and new ways to make visual art. She has a back ground in the old printing techniques and in making 3 D art.

Fusion is a melting of bright and powerful colours. A fresh lively work full of expression.
The concept in my series of striped paintings is to make unique barcodes addressing and touching unique feelings. This one is without an extra layer of patterns. Patterns and systems are beneath everything though expression brings life to otherwise dead systems.

A human wrapped in bandage ready to be lounged on four catapults. It is literally a human being catapulted into a new unknown future or a strange fictive ceremony of an fictive culture bringing their dead over to another world? The wood, the white colour and the baby blue creates a light yet strange atmosphere. This is for sure a positive gestured object about power direction and humanity and culture having catapulted through time.

Cold colours collide with warm rusty oranges and form a dynamic interplay. This work balances between being in a rush and yet finding the joy of excitement from all the endeavours. Rura is one of the firsts names given to the river Ruhr, which has had a long history of being part of the economic development of Germany. Formerly a industrial river it was very polluted, but recently it has reacquired its tranquillity.
In my art works I experiment using different techniques and researching old and new ways to make visual art. I've a background in the old printing techniques and in making 3D art. The experience of space and using the structure of the canvas and also roughly and intense bringing on and taking away layers of paint define my 2 D works.

Sliding Stairs goes up and down, which way is up and which is down? This work is inspired by the symbolism of how hard work can be made undone by sliding down in decay, or something might rise with ease to again fade away. Once you think to have reached the highest top, the top glides down with you.

Ors is an installation about everything and nothing in a complentive way.

‘Ors’ it is the old name for planet earth. The number zero on the schoolboard represents the primordial beginning as the starting moment ‘0’. Just like education and learning or doing something for the first time you start at zero represented in the schoolboard. The delicate ‘Asparagus’ plant in front represents a reminding of the window we look through and the fragility of growth.

‘Evolve and dissolve’ acryl on stretched canvas

Evolve and dissolve tries to captivate the process of change and evolution in physics. Where elements either change and thereby evolve over time or, if not adapting in the face of new pressures, dissolve. Pressure and contrast form the narrative of this work. The thunderous dark blue and black contrasts with the silver at its core, while an emptier space at the centre of the canvas is kept open as if by blast or pressure. Trying to balance between its core and external pressure. Is it evolving or dissolving ?

Evolve and dissolve tries to captivate the process of change and evolution in physics. Where elements either change and thereby evolve over time or, if not adapting in the face of new pressures, dissolve. Pressure and contrast form the narrative of this work. The thunderous dark blue and black contrasts with the silver at its core, while an emptier space at the centre of the canvas is kept open as if by blast or pressure. Trying to balance between its core and external pressure. Is it evolving or dissolving ?

'Crusade'

Installation: iron, transparent cloth, plaster

This artwork is both serene and morbid. People have throughout time been lead for what they believe to be just causes, but what when ‘blind lead the blind’? A thin veil hides the bodies, with only the rough bold feet being visible. Crusade is inspired by soldiers being led to the battle for what is believed to be right. The power of blindly going together is a powerful force, but the what is the line between just sacrifice and obscenity?
For a change I want to share one of my 3D works of art.

The crimson red dominates in the centre engulfed in blue, green and yellow drawing us very close to the action. Showing a painful beauty, as if created through sacrifice. Pure beauty is not self-evident; it asks us to give up expectations and time to create something in reality.

Space and colour a framed intensity of certain spots in the world. In this art piece the quiet and exotic come together in a dazzling way. Intense yellow forms and blues and greens leaking, The white of the canvas invites to enter this space in this moment of fresh colours and indulgence.

For this work I experimented with the use of the white canvas as a chosen form. Not as a residue form a ‘negative’ but as a ‘positive’, the result is an inviting experience of space. Almost like being in between the colours and forms. I used a high pigmented acryl combined with an acrylic fluidic medium.

‘When Mists Fade’ Acryl on stretched canvas

Driving along the meadows in the morning, when flags of mist cover the meadows and roads, capturing a unique moment of unfolding. ''When mists fade'', the moment between dawn and day.
Academically (1991 cum laude) trained in etching, lithography, sculpture and monumental; aspects of these skills are noticeable in her works on canvas. The use of colour layers, use of skin texture by different brush and painting techniques, use of white back grounds and use and experience of space specify the works on canvas of Rosalinde Bakker.
Usually I uses the white base of the canvas itself to build the image of my works, in this work I used white paint as a top layer. Exactly the other way around.

Dear followers I wish you a promising year for you, your family and friends. I'm sorry my piece of art is much later. I'm having a severe cold. Can have faults...About the work. Irregularity is what fascinates me in this second ‘Anomaly’ a theme I will explore further for sure. The most unexpected can also be the most intriguing. Each day new species of plants, bacteria and animals are discovered. New discoveries are made on the biggest and smallest level from celestial bodies in space to the most microscopic level. A lot of progress comes from wanting to explore the unknown to explain anomalies. Will there be a time when everything is mapped out and we can predict everything?
Although it is not in harmony it wakes up and makes alert again.
In my 2D and 3D art works I like to explore and doing experiments using different techniques and researching old and new ways and different inspiring themes to make visual art. I've a BA in the old printing techniques and in making contemporary conceptual 3D art.

‘Beat’ is about the frequency of music. Like a sound bar that frequences the rhythm of a song. Like in music pieces a combination of patterns and variations.
This has been brought to the forth by a refined arsenal of colour lines and the experience of depth, height and space.
A wonderful painting showing music on a constant beat. Only a row of vertical brush strokes are standing up like single forms, alone straight and tall. The colours in this piece emerge in many colour tones. #modernart #conceptualart #abstractexpressionism

When the canvas can barely contain its story. Struggle is about pushing through restraints, the moment of the clashing of effort against the constriction. It is contrasting in many ways, showing both an explosion of freedom as unrelenting pressure.
